The Intro to Entrepreneurship courses provide Philadelphia artists with interactive instruction on the basics of starting and growing a business.


  • Registration is for all course sessions. Coursework is cumulative, participants must plan on attending all sessions.
  • Two hours of one-on-one consulting is available to participants at all levels.

There are three levels of courses:

Introductory Courses

Basic: A 2-week (15-hour) course providing a chance to learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur - understanding motivation, ideation, value proposition, market assessment, goal setting, cash flow, taxes, and incorporation. No prerequisites required.

Intermediate: A weekend (14-hour) course providing instruction to start-up entrepreneurs - developing individualized strategies including revenue, valuating time, pricing, budgeting, and marketing. Prerequisite: Basic course completed.

Advanced: A weekend (14-hour) course providing instruction to established entrepreneurs - developing strategies including growth tactics (customer and equity), sales, advanced marketing, HR/team building, doing business with the city/government/L&I, tenant relations, and presentation skills. Prerequisite: Intermediate course completed, entity incorporated, and proof of revenue generation.
